![]() What you describe as additional options you want might look simple in the games you played, but it is NOT simple to program, especially if combined with the rest. RPG Maker with ABS may not be a good engine for Zelda, after all.Īn ABS script is the most complex script to write. It's really frustrating to use a script system that the creator has abandoned and barely anyone uses, y'know? Add my inability to code and I am feeling very hopeless about this whole thing. Lastly, if there is nothing that can be done about any of these issues (as RPG Maker is very limited with this kind of thing, it seems), does anyone have any ideas about an engine to make a Zelda game that doesn't require too much coding.? Or am I asking for too much.? If this is not a thing, then what scripting language would you guys recommend I learn to create such a game where these things are possible? It'll be a real shame if the Hookshot is unusable.Ĥ. ![]() Every time I grapple on to an object, the player can't move, open the menu, or do anything and I have to force shut down the game. It used to work great, but ever since I have tried every freaking kind of pixel movement script that there is, it refuses to work. Is there also any simple fall/pit script? This shouldn't be too difficult, but I guess it is as I can't find any that are compatible with Falcao (I found one made by Victor that requires a bunch of his other scripts that wouldn't work with my current scripts).ģ. ![]() The picking up/throwing is fine, but the object can't smash or reveal an item like in Zelda. Not perfect, as you would sometimes respawn over the pit, but it was good for what it was.īut since it's incompatible with Pearl, and nobody else on the internet has seemed to use these two scripts together, combined with the fact that Falcao has freaking disappeared, means that this issue may never be solved.Īre there any scripts where you can pick up and throw objects (and therefore smashing them?) Don't say MOGHunter. Another thing that the Interactive script made easy was the Fall system, where if you walk over a pit tile, you fall to your doom, lose health, and respawn. But nope, when I have this script installed with Pearl, I've had either item drops from enemies simply not appear, or they would appear, but when you move, the item would move with the camera and therefore would be unreachable. Falcao's OWN INTERACTIVE SCRIPT does not work with Pearl! It's ludicrous! I want to use that script for the simplicity of the Picking Up/Throwing items and smashing them like in Zelda, which then reveals an item. There are many, many script incompatibilities with Falcao Pearl ABS that I have no clue how to bypass. I have some serious respect for Nintendo):Ģ. This is an example of a charged spin attack (done in a Gameboy game made over 20 years ago. For something so basic, Falcao's system makes it impossible to do. But even when I attempted to change the key for the sword to an RPG Maker key, I couldn't get it to work because I don't know how to call a weapon to the command. My sword is assigned to 'C' which isn't a default RPG Maker key so I can't use events for this. I don't want the spin attack to be used randomly I want it to charge when you hold down a button, and then unleash the attack once you release the button. ![]() The Pearl combo system is not what I need. This is very important: a charged spin attack like in Zelda. ![]() What I want to do has no scripts that I can find, no understandable or clear comments in Falcao's script (and I can't ask him because he hasn't been active in years), and no tutorials/videos/guides for this script that will allow me to do a few things that should be simple. or I would think so, anyway.ġ. I've become familiar with RPG Maker and I'd rather not switch to another engine but I might need to for what I want to do. Well, at this point, what I want to do might require coding but I cannot learn how to code for the life of me. First of all, here's the script, although if you don't know what Pearl ABS is then I'm not sure if you can help: ![]()
